Electric vs Internal Combustion Engine Cars in Estonia

The share of electric vehicles in Estonia's total vehicle fleet is growing steadily. Comparing new registrations of electric and internal combustion engine cars shows a clear trend – EVs are taking an increasing share of new purchases. EVs vs ICE: in recent years, the share of EV registrations among new registrations has risen significantly. This is driven by government incentives, charging network expansion, preference for greener cars, and the EU target to ban sales of new ICE passenger cars from 2035. Estonia's EV share remains lower than in the Nordic countries, but growth is fast.
