Orignally SAM could be used in cold climates also - front windshield heated, interior heater works, battery pack is also heated.
I suppose with winter tires it could be used most of the winter.

What is very important - basing on my experience in driving the SAM - if the road has only 2 clear ways for front wheels and rear (central) wheel drives on fresh snow - it is sometimes unpredictible how the rear wheel will behave. Slides to right or left side are possible and have to be controlled. It needs a lot of attention. I suppose chains or winter tires will not solve this problem. Sumarised: to drive the SAM in winter you need at least winter tires and AVOID FRESH SNOW (until road services will clear the road).

It is still much better than normal motorcycle ;)
